3 Grounding Techniques to help relieve anxiety and PTSD symptoms – Episode #10



Hello and welcome to the Peace Among Friends Podcast. We focus on education and clinically researched relaxation techniques to help improve your daily wellness.

Today, we did a practical application of three different grounding techniques. The 5-4-3-2-1 grounding technique, categories technique, and the body awareness grounding technique method. Research shows, these techniques can help to calm the fear response in the amygdala that can become hyperactive when experiencing anxiety and PTSD related symptoms.

These techniques will not cure any disorder, but they can help to relieve symptoms.

Join us on Tuesday as we will continue to work on psychoeducational skill building.

These podcast are uploaded twice a week. On Tuesday we will have an educational discussion on common topics discussed in therapy. On Thursdays we will take some time for ourselves by engaging in mindfulness relaxation techniques.
