Those who have experienced Complex PTSD or trauma are quite familiar with dissociation (relating to an expansive field in order to cope with and alleviate childhood abuse or trauma).
If that’s you, here’s some good news: That part of the hard work of become whole and healthy is done! In this video, Karuna encourages us to take back our power, to rephrase and reconsider the term itself and consider this tendency and former coping mechanism as ***possibly*** even a hard-earned boon by using dissociation to our advantage. We well understand how going to an expansive field can effectively alleviate suffering. Now, with that experience fully understood, our practice is simply engaging with the senses, the body, the skin, the breath, taste, smells, time and time again. We are simply approaching meditation, spiritual practice and mindfulness from a different perspective! From the inside to out.
Please note: Karuna speaks from personal experience after extensive study of and immersion within spiritual practices and cognitive therapy. Karuna is dedicated to living fully, offering kindness and reaching a hand out in support of others.
