Despair, Resiliency, and Hope: Navigating Depression After COVID-19 | Cape Cod Church



We all experience ups and downs in life. But since COVID-19 arrived, we’ve felt those lows more intensely… and many of us have lost hope. In light of the unique challenges the pandemic has posed, this talk will explore various types of depression, its causes, and possible treatments. Dr. James Manganello (PhD Boston University, Master of Public Health Harvard University, Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress) will explain how recovery is possible, and why we can still hope for the future.

Speaker Bio: Dr. James A Manganello (PhD, MPH, BCETS ) has over 40 years of experience providing psychological therapy to multigenerational/multicultural families and individuals. He studied at Boston University and Harvard University, and was both clinical psychology intern and clinical and research fellow in the Department of Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. His interests brought him to additional studies in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and understanding emotional traumatic stress.
Dr. Manganello has a wide range of consulting experiences to psychiatric institutions within Massachusetts, Geneva Switzerland (World Health Organization, United Nations), the Baltic Nations, and the Bahamas.
