Emory Doctors Study Post Traumatic Stress at Ft. Benning

The Maneuver Center of Excellence partnered with clinicians from The Emory Healthcare Veterans Program to help them better understand the stressors that cause Post Traumatic Stress to develop in Soldiers.

Retired Lieutenant General William B. Garrett, an Executive Advisor to the program, led the charge in bringing the medical professionals to Fort Benning to train for one day as an Infantryman to enhance their program and better assist Soldiers in need.

To simulate these stressors, the medical staff were flown in Blackhawk helicopters, witnessed live tank fire, and shot live rounds.

They also met with the Martin Army Community Hospital Medical Staff to discuss ways in which Fort Benning is leading the way in soldier care.
