June is PTSD Awareness month. In this video we present some basic information about PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). According to the National Center for PTSD there are 8 million people that suffer from this disorder. PTSD can result from witnessing, experiencing or knowing that someone close to you has experienced a life threatening trauma such as car accidents, sexual or physical assault in childhood or as an adult, natural disasters, war/military combat or terrorist incidents. We also provide a brief explanation of the differences between Acute Stress Disorder, PTSD and Complex PTSD.
