Handmaid’s Tale Season 4| June Arrives to Canada| PTSD & DSM 5
Let’s take a deep dive into June’s character in season 4 of Hulu’s Original “Handmaid’s Tale”. I have my DSM-5 and we’ll look at the basic symptoms of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) following June’s arrival to Canada. This is a fun way to look at character development, often done in graduate school so psychology/counseling/and social work students can learn mental health symptoms and how they may present. Of course, this isn’t an official mental health diagnosis but we can see how some of Elisabeth Moss’s acting shows symptoms of mental illness in Handmaid’s Tale. Let’s look at how June’s mental wellbeing develops overtime together.
// Hey girl hey, I’m Tiffany, a licensed therapist, in Virginia. I love all things food and self-care. I work out, meal prep, eat amazing food from different cultures, and travel as much as I can for good food. Did I mention, I work as a substance abuse therapist by day? Follow me along this journey of life as I try to figure out how to live a balanced life while still enjoying the luxuries life has to offer. I get a view of other people’s lives for a living, now you can view mine.
