I know recovery can be a “one day at a time” process sometimes, but it’s important to look up sometimes to see how far you’ve come and if you’re even on the right track.

The truth is, taking the time to reflect, and see how far I had progressed was a really important part of my recovery journey. It showed me how far I had come and allowed me to see if I was even on the right track still.

After all, you don’t look at a compass once and then hope you’re heading in the right direction for the rest of the trip. You check it again and again to make sure you’re on track, and if you’re not correct your course. PTSD is no different!
