Improvised creative expression as therapy. Anxiety, trauma, PTSD, bipolar.

My name is Xanthe Wyse. Diagnosed bipolar 1 disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), social anxiety disorder.

This video is improvised, stream-of-consciousness style. With a few objects nearby to help keep me on track, more-or-less.

Been busy editing Pet Purpose – the final proof-reading corrections by a friend.

Have a painting on the easel that I haven’t finished yet. Will probably finish it at Easter, a painful anniversary for me.

To keep my mind busy, I have been focussing on the novel. Tedious corrections. Music has been making it less tedious and I have still being processing even doing this stage.

I had just arrived back from a walk. I felt anxious during my walk (trauma memories), so changed the music and started waving my arms around to the music and my mind shifted into creative mode. This is actually how I paint too. Pretty much dance-paint.

My novel is also a very complex series of painting. Very visual. Will be publishing very soon as e-book and hopefully also print-on-demand. Hopefully within the next week or so.
