PTSD can have lasting effects on not only one’s mind, but also the body. The resulting stress can remain in the body for years without relief and can lead to increased risk for other medical and mental health conditions. People who suffer from PTSD are often encouraged to find ways to complete unresolved stress responses through various forms of physical movement and attentiveness through yoga, meditation, dancing, and exercise.
