Let’s talk bout complex PTSD, anxiety, depression and ADHD with Ellen. She openly talks about her experience because she knows how important this is to break the stigma and to help anyone going through a similar experience. This interview has been filmed in Canada, for the MISTAG project to break the mental illness stigma.

Complex PTSD: Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is an anxiety disorder caused by very stressful, frightening or distressing events. Complex PTSD may be diagnosed in adults or children who have repeatedly experienced traumatic events, such as violence, neglect or abuse.

Anxiety disorders are a group of mental illnesses, and the distress they cause can keep you from carrying on with your life normally. It is the feeling of excessive, unrealistic worry and tension with little or no reason.

Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities once enjoyed. It can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems and can decrease a person’s ability to function at work and at home.

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a behavioural disorder that includes symptoms such as inattentiveness, hyperactivity and impulsiveness.
