What is Mental Health?
Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act.Mental health refers to cognitive, behavioral, and emotional well-being. It is all about how people think, feel, and behave.
Types of Mental disorders:
Anxiety disorders, including panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and phobias.
Depression, bipolar disorder, and other mood disorders.
Post-traumatic stress disorder.
Psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia.
Good mental health contributes greatly to an overall feeling of well-being. Untreated mental health disorders in older adults can lead to diminished functioning, substance abuse, poor quality of life, and increased mortality. Research shows mental illness can slow healing from physical illnesses.
