Painting memorial rock – processing grief & trauma with PTSD – part 2

My name is Xanthe Wyse. I have been diagnosed with bipolar 1 disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, social anxiety disorder.

Crashed into a low mood so using it to process. I process no matter what mood. Painting a memorial rock for an online friend who lost her son. She asks people to paint rocks #Iggyrocks on Facebook.

I was listening to Gone Away (The Offspring). Singing flat because I have earbuds on & can’t really hear myself. Also because I am feeling emotional.

Moving slower from the low mood, partially shutting down and also sedating effects of my evening bipolar meds. Movement helps stop me shutting down hence the dance like movements when at times. Music helps me process. I feel a lot of emotion in this video which I usually have shut down.

Painting the rock was also processing my own grief and trauma. I cried a lot afterwards listening to It Must Have Been Love (Roxette).
