Turns out my self-diagnosis of BPD was inaccurate! Which is okay. Yesterday I got an official diagnosis of PTSD and depression, recurrent episodes; along with alcohol abuse, moderate. I have traits and markers for borderline personality disorder, but it was ruled out as they are not strong enough to qualify for a diagnosis as such. I was told I will still benefit from DBT (a type of therapy commonly used for BPD) to help with emotional regulation, so I hopefully will be pursuing that.
