PTSD Trauma & Stressor (Episode 39): My Tractor IS Therapy to Me

One of the things that I have found in my journey with PTSD is that “drowning my senses” in a healthy activity is healing.

An activity that I enjoy that captures all of my senses: smell, sight, sound, cognitive, major muscles, etc.

One of the best techniques that has worked for me has been spending time on a tractor, with an implement or doing “bucket work”.

My anxiety, anger, depression, loneliness, motivation, sense of self-worth, sense of pride, proficiency, ability, and sense of accomplishment are all affected for the better.

Plus, doing the work in God’s creation is a HUGE part of the puzzle. Healing is all around me when I am in the woods!

Creating order, growing crops, planning wildlife and pollinator plots…it all is healthy and drowns my senses.

A fitting song for the topic. Pop in the earbuds and enjoy!
