Push-up Challenge (Day 2/25)

Day 02/25

I’ve been nominated by a former Mission President Federico Costales to a 25 push-ups for 25 days challenge to hopefully raise awareness for PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and depression. This is unheard of in our culture especially for men not because of ignorance but because it’s perceived as a sign of weakness. I’m hoping that this little exercise will bring awareness to our people especially to my family and friends that it is okay to speak up and seek help if you are not feeling okay.

I now nominate my former missionary companion David Barata. And for the Wall-sit exercise I nominate – Cess and Geraldine. 💪🏽😃 🚵🏽‍♂️

The rules are simple:
(Push-up for Male)
*Once you are nominated your 25 days starts the following day.
*Everyday except Sunday, you record yourself doing 25 push-ups in your own way, level or phase. You can do it in a standing inclined position against the wall or do 5 repetitions in 5 sets for a start. Be careful not to harm yourself and you dont have to do it if you have medical restrictions.
*Every day you must nominate a different person.

(Wall-sit Exercise for female)
*Once you are nominated your 20 days starts the following day.
*Everyday except Sunday, you record yourself doing 20 wall-sit exercise for 30 seconds. Be careful not to harm yourself and you dont have to do it if you have medical restrictions.
*Every day you must nominate a different person.
*See this demo below on how to do the wall-sit exercise.

Let’s reach as many people as possible.Let’s hope by doing this we can build awareness for anyone who is suffering from depression, you are not alone and we are here for you.

Don’t be afraid to speak out!!!
