Episode 2417: Warrior Care Network & Operation Mend
Over the next few month’s programs, our series will explore the importance of mental health support for our country’s military veterans. On this program, Dennis Wholey examines the work of Warrior Care Network and Operation Mend. The Wounded Warrior Project works to support and improve the lives of wounded veterans and service members who served post-September 11th, 2001. To understand the needs and experiences of veterans, Dennis speaks with Wounded Warrior Project’s Director of Independence Services and Mental Health Programs, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Michael Richardson about the support essential to veterans after service has ended. Dennis also speaks with Dr. Jo Sornborger, PsyD, the Clinical Director for UCLA Health’s effort Operation Mend, which offers an extensive variety of services and therapies and support for post- 9/11, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder diagnosed veterans, service members and their families.
