Topic 1: Interrupting the Impact of Traumatic Stress



The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office of Family Assistance (OFA) conducted TANF Technical Assistance Virtual Meetings from February 18 – March 24, 2021 for the OFA Regions. The meetings, Navigating New Pathways Towards Building Thriving Communities, focused on three topic areas including interrupting the impact of traumatic stress, helping TANF clients achieve long-term goals, and adapting client-centered approaches to a virtual environment. This Topic 1 meeting held for Regions IX-X focused on understanding different types of trauma and stress, resiliency building, and discussions on strategies that individual workers, teams, and organizational leaders can adopt to interrupt the impacts of Secondary Traumatic Stress.
