TRAUMA OF RACISM – Self-Care and Supporting Others – Race Based Trauma – PTSD – Racial Trauma

The trauma of experiencing racism is increasingly being linked to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In the UK, there are many structural disadvantages that leave people from BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) groups significantly disadvantaged. In this video, I talk about about some of these disparities, and look at the psychological impacts of experiencing racism. I also talk about self-care if you are going through this, as well as how to support someone who may be experiencing race-based trauma.
