Counseling in Combat: How One Psychologist Is Mending Hearts and Minds

Psychologists have a long standing history of serving in conflicts around the world. For decades therapists have been helping servicemen overcome mental trauma including acute war stress and post traumatic stress disorder also known as PTSD.
In the US, clinical studies suggest psychiatric casualties outnumber the combined total of American military personnel both wounded and killed in action, according to figures dating back to the first world war.
